Recipes made better with beer.

As much as we like to savor King’s Road beers on their own, the truth is that beer is not just for washing down pretzels. You can also use beer in recipes. Cooking with beer adds a deep, earthy flavor to savory dishes such as chili, soup, and stew; and a nutty, caramelized flavor to baked goods.

The hops used in brewing beer make it bitter by nature. However, the malt found in beer provides just enough natural sweetness to balance the flavor perfectly. In addition, foods high in sugars such as carrots, corn, and onions are balanced by the bitterness. The bitter edge also helps balance very rich and creamy foods. For example, a cheese dip made with our Black Musket Stout.

Many of the recipes seen here were submitted by Elaine Samaha, a registered dietitian and culinary arts instructor. Additionally, some recipes were submitted by area restaurants that use our beer in their creations. We invite you to send your King’s Road inspired recipes to [email protected].
